We've recently had several customers ask the best order in which to teach the 607 SnapWords cards. Your school district may have its own requirements for which sight words should be covered in which grade, but if not, here is our suggested sequence for teaching the SnapWords lists according to difficulty level. Also, see which words are included in each list.
A little about the SnapWords cards: Each sight word includes an embedded image, allowing visual learners to snap a mental picture of the word and be able to later recall the plain word when they see it in text. The plain word on the back of each card helps to transition to reading the words without the help of the images, while the body motion and word used in a sentence deepen the learning and provide context and meaning. Best of all, the cards are colorful and fun, helping make the process of learning to read more laid back for those who are frustrated with trying to learn to read.
