A: Many, many visual learners and right-brained learners are very bright. They come across as not bright when they are asked to do things that are very hard for them, such as work with symbols (1,2,3, A, B,C) and formulas and rules--in short, anything that involves a symbol or that requires memorization. The good news is that these children learn very quickly and efficiently when the materials they're using have elements that tie (left-brained) symbols to (right-brained) other elements such as pictures, body movement, story, metaphor, humor, color and more.
