Mary

I have a 6th grade boy who has just been diagnosed as a right brain learner. Over the years he has gotten by but I've always felt like he wasn't getting it. Do you have any suggestions for starting with a child that is so far along. Most of the things I have read are for early learners but I feel like I need to undo some of the damage I have caused by teaching left brain techniques all these years. Or can I just start now teaching right brained? Please help!
God bless you!

Hi Mary,
I am sorry for the delay in replying... this post slipped by me! It is never too late to begin teaching a wonderful right-brain dominant learner in the way that is easiest for him! As old as he is now, he will be a tremendous help to you as he can give you feedback about what works with him and what doesn't. He can also, once he understands how to make hooks for learning, help himself create those hooks as well. Please email me at sarah@child-1st(dot)com and let me know of specific areas you would like to see strengthened. I would be happy to discuss strategies with you!
